Small Savings Scheme
JEEVAN MADHUR is a small savings scheme of LIC, inaugurated by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India, for the benefit of low-income groups such as daily labourers, van-puller drivers and housewives. We started the scheme in 28 adjoining villages of Purba and Paschim Medinipur districts in August 2008. The aim is to bring a large number of poor people under the scheme so that a family receives money after the sudden death of a policy holder. The scheme is highly appreciated by the poor, and some specified persons work wholeheartedly in our programme.
